Triad fun - make 3 chords, only moving one finger, lazy mans guitar play'n : )

  • It’s supposed to (if works here), start at apx 7:21; but heck, some may want to view the entire 12mins.

If one thinks about Triads (or “chord fragments” ? : ) hahhh, not, but as I call them), and listens to moving triads around (if orchestrated into a track as dub), if they then experiment with dubbing additional tracks, for e.g., just take the D-triad, if in your song, and just quarter note rhythm strum it at the 15th Fret lightly - too! Dub01. Push it far left and or right over the normal progression with D at 3rd Fret and get some nice very easy layering - less is more (then, forget all the reverb, and use dryer tracks).

So, anyway - you can make three different chords in first position moving only one finger - bet someone a cookie and you’ll be full.

I watched the full video and it was a fun watch. Nothing new to me but at the same time it’s not something I’ve given too much thought to, it’s what I would just do to mess around with chords.

But I do like that progression from the D to A6sus4, used by REM at the start of their song Find The River. Although I don’t think I’d have known it was A6sus4, just a nice sounding chord
