no idea why this song resonated with me so much as a youngster. maybe because i was a teen smoker. but i havent smoked in 35 years and i still love the song. this is the first time i ever attempted to sing it on this side of the shower curtain

I used to think it was “Smokettes in your Eyes” and wondered what a smokette was - lol! Saw the Platters in Reno years ago - it’s a beautiful song musically no matter what the words are.
