Sally Cinnamon ( The Stone Roses)

The last time I was able to pick up a stringed instrument was 23rd March, I suddenly developed severe tendonitis which meant I’ve been unable to bend my wrist without pain. After a lot of heat treatment, physiotherapy and finally a steroid injection, the pain is almost gone.

So I’ve dusted off my ukulele and after playing this through about 5 times my fingertips were ridiculously tender- feel like a total beginner again but it’s good to give it a try. Maybe guitar will have to wait a few more weeks.

Im happy to hear you cn navigate a fretboard again. You will be playing fuitar by FAWM i imgine. Until then, you are doing a good job on the uke, and i am enjoying your vocals on the stone roses song.

Great track, super clean recording - all sounds great.

  • Something positive to look out for, concerning playing strings again - some think that after a “break” (maybe not that long, but anyway) - all of a sudden “stuff” comes together better than previously with the break from “practice” (how to say, so to speak). It apparently has something to do with the myelin and how that works. I know I’ve been surprised that after a layoff from certain things, I (again, how to say) - played “better”, or with more ease “stuff” I was working on.

Well, something to look for.

I’ve found that, ironic : ) the nylon stringed guitars cold be even “rougher” for some reason, initially when playing again, on the tips - then, not so much. I guess everyone’s skin reacts differently. I used to have notches in my tips, now - just don’t; I guess skin changes over time, age and etc.

Well, TMI and tltr, so anyway, enjoyed that track.
