Now and Then (The Beatles-2023) (Ft. D. Taro)

WELL this has been a FAB collaboration with Mt Taro. I know both he and I are big Beatles nuts. I have wanted to do this song for a while now so when Rocktober rolled around I reached out and asked David if he wanted to do the vocals and some slide guitar on this song. I had a big YES response in about 1 min. So here is the song.
David T. on Vocals, slide guitar. Gm7 on guitars, bass and piano. The drum track was given to me by a guy (I have lost his name) in South America and his track added so much to this song!
I wanted the song to be close to the original. PS David has nailed the vocals of John, Paul and George’s (IMO)…thx Man!

with the exception of george’s (i mean davids) slide guitar solo, this sounds more like an original collab with david and garry than a cover of a beatles song. as such, i like it very much. david’s vocal doesnt remind me of eith john or paul, yet has elements of both that contribute to a further expansion of his own vocal capabilities. all in all, it is a must-hear track for both beatle and non-beatle fans.

Damn, you work fast! Wasn’t expecting to see this on here so soon! A pleasure and a privilege as always, my friend

I am not familiar with this song at all. I love David’s vocals, and those luscious harmonies - just fabulous. Garry’s bass and guitar work sounds great - a nice sold foundation for this song. The slide guitar is a really nice touch. Well done gentlemen!!

Speechless! So awesome! Totally takes me back. Thanks for keeping this alive!

what a treat! this is just lovely all round. I only heard the original once and i found this much more engaging, lovely full sound, nice work!

I’ve been on the fence about the release of Now and Then. It’s amazing that technology has got us to a place where the original tapes can be restored, but I wasn’t blown away by the song itself, and it felt like it was being released because they could, rather than should do it.
That said, hearing this version in a totally different context, I rather enjoyed it. Maybe it’s my new found fandom of Garry and David!! Oh, and loving the slide.

As a Beatles fan, I myself do not consider this to be a Beatles song.
That said, your collab version is fabulous and lush.
I’m liking the clear and dry acoustic guitar.
And whoa, that slide solo!
Yes, I’m enjoying sitting in the sun and drinking my coffee and listening to this.

Yes that slide!.. Mr. Taro just nailed it…as always
