Mama Told Me Not To Come by Three Dog Night

One of the songs that just soaked in to my wee brain over a childhood listening to FM radio. I recorded this version a few years ago when I was between projects. My younger brother played drums. And that’s a real Wurlitzer piano that’s been in the family since the 70s - no softsynths on this one!

Awesome work all round. That wurli sounds gorgeous, and the live drums are killer. Particularly like the contrast between the sinister spoken verses and the funky almost manic choruses. You’ve really captured a bit of that Three Dog Night version in the latter. Very much enjoyed the listen!

Awesome Wurlitzer playing in the song! I really like the contrast between the verse lyrics and that famous chorus. Cool cover, and it really takes me back.

The verses were an experiment, certainly. Can’t win 'em all!

Excellent music and vocals.

Great version! It sounds absolutely fabulous even on the smartphone. Will give it a spin on the sound system later

Oh, wow, that chorus hits hard with the whispered verses. It’s a bold choice but the upside is huge. Digging the solo guitar, tone and playing.

Thanks so much! The guitar solo was fun; I don’t get to cut loose like that too often.
