Suddenly, I just had to do a cover of this song. I actually recorded the vocals while singing along to the Lennon version. And then I created the piano, bass, and drums using the Session Players, while playing a few chords. And that’s what makes it all seem different, at least to me.
Despite being a huge Beatles fan, I’ve always been a bit underwhelmed by most of John Lennon’s solo output, and thought this song to be quite dreary. But you’ve have given it some energy and made it far more listenable. And if I’m remembering it correctly, I think a bit of a change to the original melody(?) which works really well
