Ron was the first person I knew who had written a hit record. It had been recorded by The Wailers, a Northwest rock band known for instrumentals like Tall Cool One. It’s You Alone was atypical for them, and its success led them to change their direction. ron wrote a wwhole album for them, but it was not successful, so the band returned to its instrumental roots. I loved that song, and still do. Seems Ive been singing it all my life, to ne gitl after another. This i a very early recording with John Olufs, with whom I played thoughout the seventies in bands ranging from punk rock to psychedelic folk. Here I am playing rhythm and singing lead, and John is playing lead and singing harmony. It is from an old maxwell tape, so dont be suprised upon discovering it is far from Spotify-Ready.
