I'm A Loser (Beatles)

I was reading this article “The Truth Behind the Alleged ‘One-Sided’ Relationship Between John Lennon and Bob Dylan” in American Songwriter magazine, and they mentioned “I’m A Loser” as an example of the Dylan influence on the Beatles. So, of course, I had to give it a go. This is my fun “Screamie Birds” take on it.

For those who don’t know, Screamie Birds is my nod to the Beatles-era when my childhood friend and I, still kids, wrote a song and sent a letter to Ed Sullivan asking to be on the show - lol! We called ourselves the “Screamie Birds” from some teen magazine about the Beatles explaining Beatles/Liverpool lingo - “birds” for girls and “screamie” for singers.

The video is the Balboa Island Ferry in Southern California not too far from where I grew up. It reminds me of the Beatles era and being a kid during that exciting time.

this is really good. you should do more beatles songs.

This is one of those Beatles songs that I often forget exists! but I like your version, nice to be reminded of it.

And good to know the Screamie Birds origin story- I love that the name has stayed with you for all these years. Are you still friends with the other Screamie Bird?

Thank you so much. The other Screamie Bird got married/pregnant at 16 and moved to Nebraska - they actually stayed together and raised a family there from what I heard but we lost touch.

Oh good - was hoping you liked it. I had fun doing it and it played in my head all night - lol!
