Here, There, and Everywhere, by The Beatles

Quite soothing! Nice to hear this song again.

I really enjoyed this. There is a wistful and tender quality that makes it special. I always found the McCartney/Beatles version far too saccharine. This version adds something important.

thank you roddy. i have to admit i was never a fan of the beatles. but i did know all there songs because they came at me from all directions. you couldnt get away from them. i didnt dislike them, but i was a fan of the rollingstones, the zombies. them, the yardbirds. and so many bands i liked more than the beatles. in 1991, i had a duo with a girl from dubline with whom i was much enamoured. she wanted do this song and i went along with it, but i did my part very poorly and the only existing record of the two of us singing together happened to be from a live solo show during which she joined me on this song. i was so embarrased by my performance that i destroyed the tape, somethinging that i regret because i would love to be able to hear us singing together, bad as my cntribution was. so anyway, my motice for covering it was something of an apology to her for my lack of enthusiasm that ruined the song. so when you say that something important was added to the song in my version, i am very happy you say that, because to me it was important to sing this song with som e heart, some regret, and som enthusiasm. i was singing it for her in the way i wish i could have sang it with her 35 years ago. it is still a sentimental song, but there is a hard reality behind it for me . a film critic once said of frank capra that his movies would be sentimental were it not for the truths that were revealed in them.
