Hi! Here is my next original song, Happy Anniversary / I Still Do. Let me know if it is somewhat universal or only just for me and my hubby to enjoy.
Thank you

Definitely has a universal appeal- if your husband is willing to share it! What a sweet song to write for him, he must have been thrilled
What a sweet song! I think it’s quite universal. I can see the audience looking at each other smiling, with eyes for only one another!
love is universal and your song is so full of love. and filled with the spirit of love. it is a song that expresses universal feelings and not everyone has the ability to express such feelings so purely. ill share a song with you now that i hope you wil find as universal as i have found yours. Queen Kelly | Bill White and Kelly Edery | Bill White
The “test” if universal for me, and would share with others if asked is, “if I can sing it to my goldfish and it makes sense” - it’s “universal” love for loves sake. Allow room for the “mind pictures”, as I call it, to form in the listener - it’s not a novel, it’s a song. So, don’t comment, “to my husband/cat/dog/friend/etc.”. The moment one assigns that element (and in perfect grammar too ?, as some insist) for all those that don’t have a gold fish to love, turns the song off : ) lol!
The other thing I look for, for myself since asking for opinion (with a reason : ) ) is - like with things like P&W, as analogy, the 3 - 4 verse (4 max) in many I’ve engaged, go over best. They’d rather sing 6 short ones, versus 3 long ones with long chorus.
I know I get very uncomfortable as the center of attention, and having to “endure” it (yikes lol! : ) ) - so, in part that’s why. But, I can “take” short bursts in a row.
Anyway - great work!
What happened for me in this regard, (what might work, in a song, what others “hear”/how they receive it) I got “lucky” in that folks started to simply comment on “stylism’s” that worked for them. It happens “here” even if even not realized. Those elements I kept in mind, or tried to in terms of “me” as musician, guitar player, “style”.
Happy anniversary, and many more to you! : )
I appreciate all these listens and comments, friends, thank you. And yes, Hubby did like that I wrote him a song.
@BillWhite51 Such a gorgeous song for your gorgeous wife! I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I’m sure things are still raw. Thank you for sharing your anniversary song with me, and God bless you.
