I tried to learn it on several occasions, but did not understand the music or the words. Now I hear it more clearly. It is the song Id like to sing to my daughter as my last words.

A father/daughter relationship is so special. I didn’t meet my father until I was 40-something. He’s gone now and I treasure every moment we had. Nicely done, Bill!

I once saw Richie Havens live (at some otherwise somewhat sketchy Woodstock 20th anniversary thing) and let me say, he was entirely commanding and impressive. Been a fan ever since.
Your version is heartfelt and full of emotion, as are all of your performances.
Excellent work here.

thanks for your comment fuzzy. i only saw him once, on a bill with judy collins, roger maguinn, and janis ian, it was sometime around 2004, and he was fantastic.
