Didn’t realize you sang in supper clubs. My dad’s favorite (and mine). I remember having a birthday dinner at Mon Ami Gabi on the patio at Paris Las Vegas and the Bellagio Fountains across the street were playing that song and my dad sent me a happy birthday message. Unforgettable! This brings it all back. Great way to start the day. Well done, Bill!
Thanks kathy, one of my best friends waa was the rehearsal pianist for the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and when he would moonlight in supper clubs, he’d take me along as the singer and we would split the money. that was back between 73-78. Here is a pretty bad recordings of a song from one of those nights Blue Moon | Bill White
One of my fav songs…glad you did this Bill…
What a great choice of song. This is so nice to listen to. I wouldn’t have thought it would work on just one guitar with vocal but it really does. Great ending too.
Lovely work on a classic! Your vocals sounded appropriately “spacey.” I like the effect.
More classics like this?!?
Yes please!
Gosh, I love this song.
You have so much enthusiasm in this tune.
Am I detecting a bit of an ironic approach here??
No irony, I am sincere. Especially as regarding the melody. The lyrics I dont think about so much.
I don’t doubt your sincerity.
I guess what I am hearing is enthusiasm.
i have always loved singing it. my dad sang it to my mom. i sang it to my wife,
You swing like old blue eyes! I would love to hear more standards Bill.
i jusr posted another standard. one of my faorites but vry difficul to pull off. when i was younger i could breeze through it effortlessly, ot o have to give thought to every phrase and tone. it is called my one and only one. the first ime i heard it was johnny hartman singing with the john coltrane classic quartet.
