I think the new chord here was Cm6. A few mistakes along the way with this one but think this was the best of the takes.
Bread was always a guilty pleasure for me. The first time I heard Baby Im a Want you on the radio, I predicted it would be a hit and the band would be huge. Although I found the lyrics inane, the music was gorgeous. And you convery the beauty of the melody with a voice that sometimes makes me think of a more emotional Karen Carpenter. And because of the way you sing this song, the lyrics dont seem so inane to me now.
An ex of mine introduced me to Bread in the early 90s, but the first version I knew of this was the Boy George cover in the mid 80s, I think recorded as a tribute to a friend he had lost to AIDS.
And any mention of my vocals in the same sentence as Karen Carpenter is more than enough to keep me singing!
Great version of a classic song! Bread had great melodies.
