I think the track sounds excellent as is, clear Uke and vocal with a great sonorous texture.
In your comments you seem like you’re in learning mode - but, I have no idea what level you are “at” - since play so cleanly. If the chords are E and B, or E7, Bm one would “call it” as Key - E. E is the “1” of which 7 more Notes follow. I leave out all the Maj, Min, and accidentals stuff. But, 1234567 is EFGABCD (E again is 8). So, again, E, B is 1, 5, if add the 4th for a 1-4-5 progression (of which a kazillion songs are made) E, A, B.
But like with most “Progressoins”, even Chords only *need (arguably) the 1 and 5 of that chord. So one may get “away” with only playing that “power chord” version, E G# B can be played EB. See the connection to the “Scale” or “Key” - yes, all the same thinking. One could have a 1-3-5 chord progression : ) too! E G B chords 1-3-5.
Anyway, why say all that? Well, if one understand what it is, they can change it. For chord choice ease and vocal tenor agreement with what ever Note in the Chord you are singing (typically the Root or 1 Note of it, so if E, then e).
Again, so what? Well, pick randomly C as the 1. Then the 5 Chord is G. And play it C G - IF easier and better fit’s your vocal comfort level.
Pick any of the 7 Notes you have, CDEFGAB. So, that book chose to publish in E. So what? And if the Capo does not help with the Chord shapes, the Key Change I just explained, - may. I tend to sing in “D”. So, I would try, D, G, A.
When I see songs published that use chords that I don’t often use on my Guitar - I change key and then (more recently) put the Capo on 3.
I’ll add one more note to the above but without explanation - in these “progressions” if change keys, you’ll notice that one of the Chords may sound better a Minor - just because it does. (It’s another math pattern - as to why… but who cares… just change it if hit that situation - ever.)
Also, I’ll add that, while I love a Uke I gave up playing them since never bonded with the chord shapes and etc. I had some might fine ones I just gave away vs just sitting. The only other instrument I ever “bonded” with was the Cello - which I have not played in years - tuned “differently”.
Anyway, if any of that above makes no sense because is below your level, or I just don’t explain it well enough, just skip it. It’s why so many “books” just don’t mention it. But, I immediately say it’s a 1-5 progression E Bm and remembered some Uke chords were so “backward” to me : ) hahh!!! I thought I’d comment since not so busy here now and I liked your track!
- If there was a way to say all this in 250 characters I would, but it can’t be done. So, many choose not to! I take a chance now and then. Moreover, there may be a far more talented Uke teacher that could do far better and may do so! If you get the benefit, then your time is not wasted here. It’s more than this board is for, but again, - it’s not that busy either : )
