But the World Goes 'Round ("New York/New York")

My last musical (I think) focusing on vocal performance for this Rocktober. This one was chosen by my Las Vegas vocal coach a decade ago or so. He was performing in “Mama Mia” and recommended this song maybe because he was from New York. But being a West Coaster, not really in this New York state of mind, I found it more challenging than others. I think he thought I’d sing it with more of a world-weary, cynical air. Maybe this is, West Coast style - lol!

(Sorry for the rocky video - in the piano bar on a cruise ship)

the only thing i dislike here is your announcement that this will be the last of your numbers from musicals. i would love to have an entire album of you singing songs from this catalogue. you do them so well and are refreshingly different from the standardized style of musical theatre vocalizing. you bring it back to the jazz era when all the great singers did their oen versions of the song from the theatre. please dont stop.

I second the disappointment at your musicals journey ending. This has been your best so far I think, despite your reservations. Brava

Thank you so much! I’m sorta working on something as long as we don’t lose our power…
