Bloody We Go - ustaknow

URL direct to tack on BandLab:

So, I been writing a pretty good while and was reviewing my archive over on SoundCloud - all never public, just 1v1g “5 min writes” (I call them), cellphone recorded while writing… my method most often today.

This was 2nd from the bottom from 2015 of that long linear list of having a look.

It’s interesting to me,

  1. how stuff does not really change, generally speaking (but does, but doesn’t)
  2. how one may forget all they did “for later”. Oh my, there’s many bounce tracks there.

However, while it all, thankfully, comes flooding back - even this arrangement just sort of happened. I think one element of “that” - was some passing conversations with someone, folks. It matters around whom one may engage any of this, it may seem to me anyway… - if even don’t think it would matter.

So, as I do, this from a (just newly done) 1st pass 1 take cellphone recording initial stem - and then all the subsequent dubs, as well, as-is, never redone to then build this with any instrument plugged direct into my mixing board (elec guitar, bass…) unless acoustic, vox - then SM57 using an old Linux friendly version of Audacity all manually manipulated.

(Thankfully the kitchen dish-washing clanks were at the very end lol! : ) … gotta watch that “ambient” tone.)

Cool layers – I like the sustained chords underneath, carrying me along.

Wow, you found this one from February : ) - thank you, I appreciate the feedback.

So, I guess then, you had no problem with the lyrics. (For me, it sonic-ally “sounds” like, how I felt that day - so kept the mix and posted it - what it’s mostly “about” - if it’s about anything, really…)

I figure when I see a number of views and play-count, that may trip some up (lyrics).

  • They (lyrics), as I am told, tend to not make sense to some, while others just go with the “mind pictures” they get in the moment; that’s the/my intent.

I recall, that, at one time, and heard it a good bit, commented : ) “I can’t tell what side your on, but like the track anyway”, lol! Always the/my intent.

  • For me, good song writing - is not “literal”; so, for example (?) - when I hear a “Love Song”… I don’t need “detail” (I have my own) - so my test, as I’d offer to others seeking it: “if I can sing it to my gold fish, cat, dog… bro, sis, mother, dad… and makes sense, but have no idea to whom, what it’s “too” - it’s a “better” writing job (I think that Bonnie Rate - wrote one I liked, like that - why limit the song?!) … well - oh blah dee, oh blah dah, vlah! (Your Summer Beatles Uke series, “Lucy in The Sky w/Diamonds” was not about LSD : ) lol!!! - so funny, and validates the premise (?) - less is more. Hey a Uke is only half a guitar? : ) lol!! ) .

Anyway… … …

I think I was in the mind-pictures camp, not really trying to make sense of the lyrics, just flowing with it.
