Ukulele Advent Calendar - Dec. 6
“A Hazy Shade of Winter” (1966) by Paul Simon
I like the Bangles version, too, but didn’t re-listen to it before making this cover, just S&G.

simon and garfinkle ar once of my fav duos and this is one of my favorites of theirs. You add something new to it that i dont hear in either their or the bangles versions. I love the way to bite off those consonandts. such excellent enunciation.
Also one of my favourite S&G songs, and enjoyed the Bangles version too.
Something I’ve noticed, in the last couple of months, about my own approach to covers is that I seem to resist a one take/ single melody when a song is so well known with harmonies. I always feel like I’m lacking something. But you have a lovely way of blending both to give your melody line a new life.
Your vocals are spot on and pure as always.
god you good…lovely…
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! @JoeyCyclone it’s a tricky thing – I am too lazy to multitrack it but when you’re hearing the harmonies in your head it’s frustrating not to have them in the cover!
