6 Years for a Friend - ustaknow

Links direct to that track only:

  • I see we are back to covers - so this would be the last, “original” then for a while; good, what “rock-to-beer” should be!

So:
BandLab has something called a “Fork”, or Forking - it’s not for everyone, to be sure.

  • Essentially you donate your track with full rights and only “hope” for : ) Cited reference back (if lucky and if *on the BL sight - can’t skip it there, auto linked). I cite obscure PubDom, so surely gonna cite a Fork. *Anyone can grab and go with it - yikes… aye!

Anyway several things triggered this “forking” off - mostly that, really long time online associates are rare, but this person is one and I just found out he’s not well (God’s gotta stop killing my friends ? yah know!), so, “forked” this - leaving that there. (It sat there since last year it seems - he only just got back to me to fyi me that - “yes, it’s all his work…”, etc. - which I have a thing about - knowing origins, and if live instruments used, etc. other)

So, if not into, what to call it?

  • progressive, alternative, rock - ish… don’t click on it - it’s just me “noodling” a 1st pass 1 take, *while recording to boot! : ) o m g - Bass, Guitar, re-engineer and et alia of what that is. His Stems were not “dry”, so all the dubs had to be manually manipulated - what I do anyway, so derUgo. All of my tracks like this sound alike anyway - I think Steve Vai has the same problem? LOL!! (I joke… of course).

He did it in G major, but I play in E minor, Relative Major B (don’t claim to be a music theory jeanyus) - it seemed to melodicize a bit more that way.

I did it on a lunch break, as that goes (my history with this stuff) - when working it’s not good to drink shots on your break, and I can’t have to much coffee (I write even more : ) ) and no cigs for me… - and, I changed out my guitar at my desk, so been itchy to use it - a whole nutha tltr -ism so leave that there too.

  • I think I do have a cover-song I wanted to redo-repost, an oldie but a goodie… well, see.
