39 - Queen acoustic simplified 1st-pass, 1-take, record while figuring it out : )

This link goes direct to that song track - generic is all they mask with, it seems.

Almost a “sea shanty”, maybe? But from a top-list of sci-fi theme songs (don’t think this was one). Anyway -

Per wiki:
The song relates the tale of a group of space explorers who embark on what is, from their perspective, a year-long voyage. Upon their return, however, they realize that, due to the effects of time dilation from traveling at relativistic speeds, a hundred years have passed on Earth, and the loved ones they left behind are now all dead or aged.

(Apparently Brian May of Queen has his PhD in this! Thesis: A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud. Yeehaw, rock and roll!)

I saw these guys when in High School, Madison Square Garden - great seats, amazing seats… a time when “Fat Bottom Girls” could be a top radio play, R&R-pop song! ; ) omg. I never saw them do another show like that one.

Had no idea what this was written about, even though I’ve heard it 100s of times.
Your more reflective version definitely suits the story.

Sadly I am too young to have seen Queen live (obviously not counting the guest vocalist line ups), although I did once bump into Roger Taylor at Heathrow Airport sometime in the late 90s!
